Who are we?
Not Only Words is an Auckland-based private Speech and Language Therapy practice which provides therapy for children and adults with communication and swallowing difficulties. At Not Only Words we believe that everyone can achieve their potential. We provide client-centered therapy to meet the needs of individuals and their families.
Our therapists have degrees in Speech and Language Therapy and are members of the New Zealand Speech-Language Therapists' Association, the professional body for the profession in New Zealand.
Not Only Words has developed links with health and education providers and works closely with them to ensure an integrated approach to assessment and therapy services.
What do we do?

Adults
- Acquired Speech and Language Difficulties, i.e. Aphasia, Dysarthria, Dyspraxia
- Progressive Neurological Conditions, e.g. Parkinson's Disease, Motor Neurone Disease
- Auditory Processing Disorders
- Swallowing Difficulties
- Traumatic Brain Injury
How do we do it?
First, we complete an initial assessment to identify strengths and areas to focus on in therapy. Then we recommend individualised therapy programmes tailored to meet the individual needs of each client. Progress is regularly reviewed during the programme. The length and frequency of therapy programmes will vary.
Where can you find us?
Not Only Words provides clinic and community services, i.e. seeing clients at home, pre-school or school. Our clinic locations are:

Referrals are accepted from clients, parents, general practitioners or specialists. Please contact us to make a referral.
